What’s Involved?

If you’re excited about accelerating your orthodontic treatment with Propel, you may be wondering what to expect during your appointment. It’s easy to get started on quickly completing your straighter smile. Your Propel treatment is completed at Comfort First Family Dental, in three easy steps:

  1. Evaluation – Dr. Jones will inspect your mouth, to note root placement and any anatomical issues that may cause a problem or adjustment to your treatment. This evaluation is easy, involving a quick x-ray and manual palpation, to get a literal “feel” for your mouth’s unique structure.
  2. Rinse and Spit – A special chlorhexidine solution will be given to you, to rinse your mouth prior to your treatment. You’ll swish this disinfectant for a full minute, before spitting. You’ll need to rinse twice before your Propel procedure begins.
  3. Ensuring Your Comfort – Before your treatment, Dr. Jones will thoroughly anesthetize the area, so you won’t feel a thing! Anti-anxiety medication is also available, if you’re feeling a little nervous about your treatment.

Propel advanced orthodontics is completely customizable, because you’re unique and so is your mouth. On top of reducing your time spent in the dental chair, Propel is also disposable and packaged for individual use – which is safer for you!

Propel Advanced Orthodontics FAQ’s

How fast does Propel work?
Clinical research indicates that Propel shifts your teeth 50-60% faster than traditional orthodontics alone. While many personal factors affect the total time you spend in orthodontic treatment, Propel can significantly reduce that total treatment time. What does this mean for you? Less discomfort, fewer office visits, and getting your healthiest, most beautiful smile faster than ever before.

Can I use Propel with my braces?
Propel can benefit any orthodontic treatment. Whether you’re using traditional, bracketed braces or clear aligner trays, Propel can help you achieve faster results.

Will I need more than one treatment?
For many patients, a single visit is all that’s necessary to increase bone remodeling. For patients that would benefit from more than one Propel procedure, an additional treatment is typically performed 6 to 8 weeks later.
